FI-ADOPT funded 13 out of 112 proposals under Call 1

FI-Adopt's first Call for proposals under FI-PPP Phase 3 closed on 30 October 2014. One hundred and twelve full proposals were submitted by the deadline from 23 countries: Spain (31), UK (19), Italy (11), Greece (8), Netherlands (6), Germany (4), 3 proposals per country from Luxembourg, Hungary, Finland, Portugal, France, Poland, Ireland, 2 proposals per country from Bulgaria and Serbia and 1 proposal per country from Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkey, Belgium, Denmark, Slovenia and Romania.

FI-Adopt is focused on three main application areas:

  • Corporate and Citizen Learning/Training (50% of applications submitted)
  • Healthy Behaviour and Wellbeing Shaping (42% of applications submitted)
  • Social Cultural Integration (7% of applications submitted) and Collective Awareness (1% of applications submitted)

Following the evaluation process, thirteen proposals  were selected for funding from UK (4), Spain (3), Italy (2), Greece (2), Slovakia (1) and Serbia (1). The average funding requested per proposal was €130,000 with a total funding of €1.69 million committed. 

Funded projects include: FIARLearning; FI-Mirror, HealthBail, HealthParks, HealthySwaps, Legend, MemoryStoria, Parlance, QualiFI, SmartWears, Spark Works ITC Ltd and VREMO.

FI-Adopt will provide financial, technological and business/market uptake support to SMEs and web entrepreneurs. All applications will leverage the FIWARE technology, enablers and FI-PPP Phase 2 use cases.  It is envisaged that most of the projects funded will commence commercialisation of the proposed applications within 15 months.

FI-Adopt's 2nd Call closed on 30 January with 133 full proposals submitted by the deadline. The evaluation proceess will be now be undertaken until mid March.
