CreateFI and SOUL-FI organised joint FIWARE Event in Finland to share Results and future Opportunities

As part of ongoing activities to raise awareness of FIWARE and the FI-PPP Phase 3 Accelerator Calls, CreateFI and SOUL-FI Accelerators organised a joint FIWARE awareness raising event in Tampere, Finland on 19 February.

Over 70 software developers and entrepreneurs attended this interactive workshop.

CreatiFI focuses on supporting SMEs, web entrepreneurs and ICT developers interested in developing new applications for the Creative Industries based on the FIWARE Technology and enablers by providing grant funding and an eight month program. 

The first CreateFI Call opened on 01 October and closed on 30 November 2014. Sixty projects were selected focused on Internet and smart phone applications related to gaming, tourism, and smart city services out of 300 applications. Each successful project will receive business support and a grant up to €50,000 for the prototype development. 

The Second CreateFI call, which focuses on commercialisation of a prototype will open in August and close on 30 September 2015 with grants of up to €100,000 for this commercialisation phase.

Startups Optimizing Urban Life with Future Internet (SOUL-FI) is focused on supporting Future Internet (FI) applications leveraging FI-WARE components that focus Smart cities addressing quality of life, mobility and resource efficiency (energy, water, materials, waste).

The first SOUL-FI Round A Call closed in October 2014 with 49 projects being selected to write an ignition/business plan for their Future Internet application or service out of 182 applications. Successful projects will receive a grant of up to €10,000.  The second SOUL-FI Round A closes on 31 March. Click here to access the application form

SOUL-FI Round B, which focuses on develing a pilot product and robust business plan, opens on 30 April with co-funding (75%) of up to €75,000.
