IMPACT funds 19 Start ups under first Call

IMPACT (Internet Mobile ConTent) focuses on supporting SMEs and web entrepreneurs interested in developing mobile Internet applications based on the FIWARE Technology and enablers by providing grant funding and a six month acceleration program.

IMPACT's first FI-PPP Phase 3 Accelerator Call closed on 07 November 2014. Nineteen Start-ups were selected for funding out of 846 applications from 30 countries. IMPACT reports that successful applicants come from Spain (8fit, Notegraphy, Bastly, Inevio, Conductr, Chronobook, Healthia Salud Inteligente, Shopping Leeks, BridgeMedia Service, Njoy, Smartsea), Italy (Intoino, Goal Shouter, Mivoq), Netherlands (Revisely and Cofeestrap), Denmark (Onomondo), Poland (Dlaodmiany) and Slovenia (Olaii Payments).

During February 2015, the selected starts ups completed an eleven day "Digital Entrepreneurship" Training Programme, which provide an entrepreneurial digital acceleration course focused on start-up development, digital marketing, technology and financing and eLearning courses as part of the six month acceleration programme. A grant of up to €100,000 will be disbursed in three instalments based on achievement of pre-defined business milestones over the six month period. 

The 2nd Call will open on 01 April and close on 30 April 2015. 

Across the entire programme (2 years), IMPACT has a budget of €6.4 million to be allocated in grants via open calls to around 64 European SMEs working in the areas of Mobile Internet (mobile applications or business models based on mobility in the communications areas, social, video, media and advertising; design, education, entertainment, ecommerce, peripheral devices, content, connected TV, infrastructure, security, productivity, finance, smart cities and social networks).
